Chapter 51
After Qiu Chi went out, she saw Fu Yi sitting in his car.
Just as Qiu Shi had said, surveillance cameras had indeed been installed in the villa, and Fu Yi was sitting in his car, watching the monitor. He had seen everything that had just happened inside.
Now that he saw Qiu Chi emerge, he looked up and gave her a complicated glance.
"If you want to say something, just say it."
Fu Yi's expression was complicated. "You're even more ruthless than I imagined."
Qiu Chi raised an eyebrow. "This is what you call ruthless? Is giving him a taste of his own medicine considered ruthless?"
Fu Yi shook his head. "If you had been the one staying with him in the villa, he probably wouldn't have had such a strong reaction. Even if it had been any other young woman staying with him, he likely wouldn't have reacted that way."
"Heh." Qiu Chi found Fu Yi somewhat amusing. "Are you feeling sorry for him now? Why don't you go in and keep him company yourself?"
"...That won't be necessary."
Of course, Fu Yi didn't feel sorry for Fu Nanjue. It was just that Qiu Chi's actions had completely subverted the findings of his investigation into Ye Tiantian.
Although Qiu Chi had said she wasn't Ye Tiantian, Fu Yi hadn't believed her, and he still didn't believe her now.
Qiu Chi didn't care what Fu Yi thought. Now that the matter with Fu Nanjue was settled, she was about to leave directly, but Fu Yi called out to stop her.
"Wait, were you the one who injured Fu Nanjue's face?"
"And what if I was?"
Fu Yi sized up Qiu Chi, finding it hard to believe that someone who looked so delicate and petite could beat the nearly 1.9-meter-tall Fu Nanjue to such a state.
"It doesn't seem like you've ever trained in things like kickboxing or taekwondo..."
"I told you already, I'm not Ye Tiantian. If you have nothing else to say, then stop wasting time."
"Ahem, what I mean is, let me give you a ride. It's hard to get a taxi here."
Whatever Fu Yi's intentions were, Qiu Chi was fearless, so she didn't refuse.
Qiu Chi had Fu Yi drop her off at a shopping mall. She wasn't short on money now, so naturally, she wanted to buy some more comfortable clothes. She was never the type to deny herself comforts.
As Qiu Chi was about to leave after buying her clothes, she ran into Ye Jiaojiao.
The moment Ye Jiaojiao saw Qiu Chi, she ran over angrily and demanded, "What are you doing here? Where is Brother Jiarui? Why can't I contact him or find him anymore?"
Li Jiarui's entire family had gone abroad; it was perfectly normal that she couldn't find him.
Qiu Chi glanced at Ye Jiaojiao and asked curiously, "You only care about your Brother Jiarui? Aren't you concerned about your mother?"
Mother Ye must have been having a very unlucky time these past few days.
Ye Jiaojiao froze for a moment, then glared at Qiu Chi. "How did you know? Was it you? You must have done something to Mother. You're so wicked!"
Although Ye Jiaojiao was almost an adult, she had been spoiled brainless by her parents. After her accusation, she lunged forward, claws out, to strike Qiu Chi, only to be restrained with a single hand.
Qiu Chi looked at her, finding the situation laughable. "How can you be so stupid?"
Ye Jiaojiao glared furiously at Qiu Chi. "Who are you calling stupid? You're the stupid one! You're a huge idiot, stupid and wicked!"
Qiu Chi watched her with leisurely amusement, as if watching a monkey jumping about.
Meanwhile, the classmate who had come with Ye Jiaojiao finished his shopping and walked over. Seeing the scene, he called out hesitantly, "Classmate Ye Jiaojiao?"
Ye Jiaojiao's expression changed in an instant. After shooting Qiu Chi a glare, she turned to the boy and said, "This... this is Ye Tiantian. We were just having an argument. I'm sorry you had to see that."
The boy greeted Qiu Chi politely. "Hello, Sister Ye. I'm Ye Jiaojiao's classmate. My name is Xu Wen, and I'm her tutor."
Before Qiu Chi could say anything, Ye Jiaojiao pouted in displeasure. "How come you call her 'Sister,' but you just call me 'classmate'?"
Xu Wen felt awkward, and meeting Qiu Chi's amused gaze made him even more so.
"Classmate Ye Jiaojiao, we are just classmates. Today's tutoring session is over, so I'll be leaving now."
Before he left, Xu Wen didn't forget to politely say to Qiu Chi, "Goodbye, Sister Ye."
Once Xu Wen was a good distance away, Ye Jiaojiao turned to glare at Qiu Chi again.
Qiu Chi crossed her arms, her tone leisurely. "You like him? I thought you liked your Brother Jiarui."
"Who likes him! Didn't you hear he's my tutor! Ye Tiantian, if you dare tell Mom and Dad about this, I swear I won't let you get away with it!"
"Oh? And how do you plan on not letting me get away with it? Do tell."
"Uh..." Ye Jiaojiao faltered. "I just... I won't let you off! Didn't that Fu Nanjue guy take a fancy to you? I'll give you to him and let him lock you up!"
"Hah!"
"What are you laughing at?"
The smile vanished from Qiu Chi's face. She gave Ye Jiaojiao a cold glance and walked away, leaving the other girl stunned.
After Qiu Chi had left, Ye Jiaojiao came to her senses and shook her fist at her retreating back.
【Mmph!】 Let me say something!
"Speak."
【I can really talk! I noticed you seemed a bit indulgent toward Ye Jiaojiao just now?】
"Are you blind? I was watching a monkey's antics."
【I don't believe you. You even let her act so brazenly in front of you. At first, I thought Ye Jiaojiao was just a simple, spoiled little girl, but then I realized I was thinking too simply. Those words she just said... they would have been so hurtful to the real Ye Tiantian!】
In the original plot, Ye Jiaojiao had always been a spoiled little girl. It wasn't that she was particularly malicious, but some of her actions were indeed hurtful to Ye Tiantian.
Especially after meeting Fu Nanjue, she found him exceptionally handsome and developed a very favorable impression of him.
And when faced with Ye Tiantian, who repeatedly tried to escape from Fu Nanjue, she would say things that seemed innocent on the surface but were, in fact, incredibly cruel to her sister.
Originally, Qiu Chi hadn't planned on doing anything to Ye Jiaojiao. It wasn't that she had gone soft, but rather that she couldn't be bothered with her.
But today's chance encounter made her realize that perhaps making Fu Nanjue suffer alone wasn't enough.
