BBQT - Chapter 125

Chapter 125

“What do you want to know? The magic world is more brilliant and colorful, while the mecha world is more mechanized. This place of yours looks quite normal, but it’s actually heavy with yin energy. The ancient small world is the most ordinary, so there’s not much to say. It’s better for you to see it for yourself.”

Lou Ye gave Qiu Chi a complicated look.

“What are you looking at me for? Isn’t it better to become strong and see it for yourself than to just hear about it from others?”

“Alright, hurry up and memorize the magic incantations. I have no patience, so try to remember them all in one go.”

Ignoring Lou Ye’s pitiful expression, Qiu Chi pushed him to start memorizing immediately, forcing him into it.

Fortunately, Lou Ye also wanted to become stronger, so he didn’t protest her actions.

Lou Ye was indeed smart.

Yi Luo would repeat each incantation several times, afraid Lou Ye wouldn’t be able to remember it.

Qiu Chi only said them once, yet Lou Ye could still remember them clearly.

Seeing that he had memorized them, Qiu Chi left him to it.

“Ten incantations a day. Practice them well. If you can’t keep up, remember to tell me. Alright, you can practice now. I’m off.”

Lou Ye silently recited the incantations, watching helplessly as Qiu Chi drifted far away.

Qiu Chi didn’t drift too far. After all, she only had a day. No matter how powerful she was, she didn’t want to be rushing around constantly.

She’d rather spend that time watching some drama unfold.

In a metaphysical small world like this, dramas of foolish men, resentful women, love, hate, and revenge were extremely common.

She didn’t even have to drift far; right here in the city, she could see all sorts of ghosts and monsters seeking revenge.

Despite the presence of the Lou family, they still couldn’t stop the endless stream of ghosts and monsters.

However, in the drama Qiu Chi was watching, the woman appeared human to the man. Although her clothes were as red as blood and her face was as pale as paper, it seemed somewhat understandable given the circumstances.

“Zhang Fang, search your heart and ask yourself how I’ve treated you. I gave you all my savings so you could study for the imperial exams. When money was tight, I toiled day and night to earn more. Now that you’ve barely made a name for yourself, you want to abandon me for someone of higher status. Tell me, where in the world can you find such a good deal?”

“Yu Niang, I know you’ve been good to me, but matters of the heart are not something I can control. I will certainly repay the money I owe you with interest, but I can only fail to return your affection.”

“Ha, how laughable. That’s not what you said when you were whispering sweet nothings to me, promising you would only love me and marry me. You’ve said those words to quite a few people, haven’t you? Besides me, do you even remember your first wife, the one who supported you so you could come to the city?”

As soon as the woman finished speaking, a sinister wind gusted by. A red light flashed in the eyes of the woman, who had looked human, and her fingernails began to slowly lengthen.

The man hadn’t noticed anything was wrong; he only felt a slight chill. He paid it no mind and continued to argue, “Yu Niang, what nonsense are you spouting? I don’t have a first wife. I do owe you a great deal, and I’ve already said I’ll pay you back. If you keep pestering me, it won’t end well for either of us.”

By the end, his words even carried a hint of a threat.

There were no other onlookers. If the woman continued to pester him, it wasn’t out of the question that the man would resort to lethal force and kill her.

Of course, that was how things would have played out in the ancient small world.

The current situation, however, was no longer something the man could control.

When the man denied having a first wife, the woman began to lose control. The red light in her eyes was no longer just flashing—it was about to turn them completely crimson.

The sinister wind grew stronger.

Unfortunately, the man didn’t look at the woman, so he had no idea what state she was in. He was still rambling on, telling her to be sensible.

Then, the woman spoke. Her voice was completely different from before, sharp and shrill.

The man, who had been rambling on, instantly choked on his words, and his body stiffened.

“Husband, have you forgotten me? Do you remember what you once told me? You said you would love only me, marry only me. You said you would give me a good life. You said you would always be with me.”

“Now I’m all alone, so lonely and so cold. Why don’t you come keep me company?”

The man’s body was rigid; he didn’t dare look at the woman.

But the woman was already in front of him, forcing him to raise his head and look at her.

The woman’s eyes were blood-red, just like her clothes. Her face shifted between two forms—one moment it was Yu Niang, the next it was his first wife.

And the man’s face turned deathly pale.

He couldn’t stop trembling.

The woman spoke, her voice both shrill and gentle, exuding an eerie quality. “Husband, why are you trembling? Are you cold? It’s alright. Once you come to keep me company, you won’t die. Come with me~”

Finally, the man could no longer control himself and screamed.

He scrambled backward, falling to the ground in a pathetic heap. “Aaaah, a ghost! Stay away, don’t come near me…”

As the woman advanced step by step, the man scooted backward on the ground.

Just a moment before the woman was about to kill the man, members of the Lou family arrived.

Qiu Chi was just getting to the good part of the show, and the scumbag wasn’t even dead yet. Displeased by the Lou family’s interruption, she set up a bewildering formation and trapped them inside.

The glimmer of hope that had appeared in the man’s eyes upon the Lou family’s arrival was now extinguished.

The woman knew that if she wasted any more time, she would not only fail to get her revenge but might also have her soul scattered. So, she stopped toying with him and extended her long fingernails. “Husband, come with me. Let me see your heart~”

“No, don’t, have you forgotten us…”

The woman’s voice was gentle yet eerie, but her actions were decisive. She gave the man no chance to appeal to their past feelings. The moment his heart was torn out, it was still beating. Terror lingered in the man’s wide, staring eyes.

“It’s red. I thought it would be black…”

The woman muttered to herself and crushed the heart.

She glanced around, but seeing no one, she simply bowed and said, “Thank you for your help.”

After speaking, the woman’s figure began to dissipate, and Yu Niang collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

Qiu Chi dispelled the bewildering formation. When the members of the Lou family emerged, they saw the dead man and the unconscious Yu Niang.

The leader was furious. “Fuck, who the hell is messing with us? That fierce ghost didn’t have the ability to trap us. If I ever find out who it was, I’ll destroy them and scatter their soul to the winds!”

Qiu Chi said, “Heh heh, you’re suited to staying in the bewildering formation for a few more days.”

And so, having just emerged from the bewildering formation, they found themselves back inside it.

They wouldn’t be getting out for at least a few days. As for whether they would starve to death inside? She had no idea.

The show was over, so Qiu Chi naturally took her leave.

She went into the wild, caught a rabbit, and then went to find Lou Ye.

Lou Ye was diligently practicing the magic incantations, but the results were mediocre. This was a metaphysical world, after all.

Even so, he could still use the incantations to create small things.

For example, a flame the size of a bean.

Qiu Chi happened to see it just as she returned, though it was extinguished almost immediately.

She patted the slightly embarrassed Lou Ye on the shoulder. “Keep up the good work. Here, roast this.”

With that, Qiu Chi tossed the rabbit to Lou Ye, not bothering to ask if he knew how to roast it.

She called it raising a child, but in reality, the most Qiu Chi did was teach him magic incantations or show him the dramas she witnessed.

The rest of the time, she was either disappearing or ordering him around.

Although Lou Ye was taciturn, he was quite obedient.

With Qiu Chi catching food for him to cook and eat every day, his originally thin and small body finally put on some weight, revealing the handsome bearing he would have in the future.
