Seductive Beauty - Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Even though spending a heat together was off the table, Yi Wei still found Gu Sijiu far more interesting than before. The two sat there chatting idly, and before long, they were actually having a surprisingly good time. The friend who had come with Yi Wei assumed Gu Sijiu was her chosen companion for the night and tactfully found their own amusement elsewhere, leaving them undisturbed.

"I think you're rather special, not quite like most Alphas. There's a certain... indescribable quality about you."

Yi Wei swirled the drink in her hand. She had almost used the word "flirtatious," but changed her mind at the last moment.

Gu Sijiu could more or less guess what she had intended to say. She raised an eyebrow, sizing Yi Wei up, and returned a look that said you're not so bad yourself. Thinking back to Yi Wei's earlier mention of heats, Gu Sijiu suddenly grew curious about what that was actually like. Did it feel pleasurable or uncomfortable during a heat? Was it truly unavoidable?

"Yi, that Omega heat you mentioned just now, what exactly does it feel like?" Gu Sijiu asked curiously, her interest clearly piqued. At the end of her question, she unconsciously swept the tip of her tongue across her lips. Yi Wei watched that soft pink tongue peek out and retreat, finding it rather endearing. She began to regret that Gu Sijiu wasn't a Beta; she truly was quite interested in her.

"Darling, as an Alpha, have you truly never spent a heat with your fiancee?" Yi Wei looked at Gu Sijiu in disbelief. After all, the woman looked anything but innocent, how could she possibly be an inexperienced Alpha? At Yi Wei's words, Gu Sijiu's mind conjured an image of herself tangled up with Song Jinzhi. That wooden face of Song Jinzhi suddenly flashed into her head, startling her into a vigorous shake of denial.

"Of course I have. I was merely curious about what an Omega's heat feels like. As you know, we Alphas rarely experience our own ruts." Gu Sijiu spoke with an air of authority. Listening to her, Yi Wei's mind naturally drifted to explicit memories. To her, an Omega's heat was not a struggle but a pleasure. She never suppressed herself with suppressants; whenever she felt desire, she would find a Beta to accompany her through her heat. The experience was, naturally, exquisite.

"Omegas go into heat once a month. Generally, it lasts about three days. For those with stronger libidos, four or even five days is possible. An Omega in heat desperately craves an Alpha's touch and may even lose all reason to the fever. Even after taking suppressants, they remain extremely weak for some time afterward. The best solution is to find a Beta or Alpha to put out the fire."

Yi Wei spoke softly, then leaned lazily against Gu Sijiu. Gu Sijiu pondered her words, finding it somewhat difficult to imagine Song Jinzhi losing control. She pictured Song Jinzhi, with that wooden face of hers, announcing that she was in heat and needed Gu Sijiu's loving caresses. A violent shudder ran through Gu Sijiu. She was certain Song Jinzhi had left her with psychological scars, why else would Song Jinzhi be the first thing that popped into her head whenever she thought of Omegas?

"Gu, your scent truly smells delicious. It's a pity, I rarely sleep with Alphas. But we can certainly be friends." Yi Wei patted Gu Sijiu's shoulder, then rose and took her leave. Seeing her go, Gu Sijiu had no desire to linger and drink alone. She got into her car, switched on the autopilot, and decided to cruise around a bit before heading back.

Song Jinzhi discovered Gu Sijiu's absence that afternoon. Though the house was by no means small, the quiet that came with one person missing was unmistakable. She knew the servants would have no idea where the other had gone, and she didn't have Gu Sijiu's contact information. Even if she had, she would never have initiated contact. Since Gu Sijiu wasn't home, she might as well enjoy the peace and quiet.

That evening, Song Jinzhi ate the dinner prepared by the servants, then settled comfortably in the living room to watch the financial news. She had assumed Gu Sijiu would return very late, or perhaps not at all, after all, that was how she had always been. What Song Jinzhi hadn't expected was that the current Gu Sijiu absolutely refused to follow any predictable pattern.

The front door swung open. Song Jinzhi lifted her head to look at the person who had suddenly returned. That single glance was enough to freeze her in place, making her forget even her original intention to retreat to her room. Song Jinzhi had known Gu Sijiu for quite some time, from university to the present, a full five years. Gu Sijiu's style of dress had always been identical to that of most Alphas in the military. Uniforms and trousers were her consistent choice, and even her makeup was deliberately applied to make her features appear a bit harder and more angular. The person standing in the doorway now gave Song Jinzhi the distinct impression of who are you.

She had abandoned her habitual military uniform and boots in favor of a sapphire blue dress. The dress was very short, falling above the knee, revealing long, perfectly straight legs. She had also curled her hair, adding a few gentle waves at the ends that lent her an air of both playfulness and sensuality. Her makeup had changed as well. She no longer darkened her face artificially but kept her natural fair complexion. The pale red eyeshadow complemented her hair color. If not for the distinctly Alpha pheromones emanating from her, someone might even mistake her for an Omega based on her appearance alone.

Song Jinzhi could not fathom what new madness had seized Gu Sijiu, but the shock it delivered was far more potent than any of her previous antics. She eyed Gu Sijiu warily. Noticing her gaze, Gu Sijiu felt a swell of satisfaction. She knew it, compared to that stiff, boring, mannish style from before, her current look was far more appealing. Surely Song Jinzhi wouldn't keep wearing that cold expression in the face of such beauty?

"Wooden Face, good evening." Gu Sijiu kicked off her high heels and walked over, all smiles. She deliberately drew out her syllables, as if determined to wring endless nuance from every word. Seeing her light, buoyant steps, Song Jinzhi instinctively edged toward the other end of the sofa. Completely oblivious to her aversion, Gu Sijiu plopped down right beside her.

"Do you need something?" Song Jinzhi replied flatly. She very much wanted to return to her room immediately and put distance between herself and this bizarre Alpha.

"Nothing in particular. So, what do you think? Don't I look better now than I did before?" Gu Sijiu was in excellent spirits, her voice lilting with good cheer. No woman disliked beauty, and even fewer disliked compliments. Receiving praise from a beautiful woman was, without question, far more satisfying than receiving it from a man.

Gu Sijiu looked at Song Jinzhi with shining eyes, waiting to be praised. Her expression reminded Song Jinzhi of Hanhan, the dog she kept at the Song family home. Hanhan was a large border collie, and whenever she eagerly awaited a treat, she wore exactly that same expression... Except, compared to Hanhan, Gu Sijiu's presence was far more imposing. She carried the scent of alcohol on her, but it was absolutely not from drinking. Rather, she had been in close proximity to another Omega and was now tinged with the other's pheromones.

The thought that Gu Sijiu had engaged in intimate contact with some other Omega left Song Jinzhi feeling distinctly unsettled. She knew that nothing could have actually happened between the two, yet an inexplicable, indescribable discomfort lingered. She herself always maintained strict distance from other Alphas, and even exchanging the occasional word or two was enough to earn Gu Sijiu's cold mockery. Yet this person clearly had no concept whatsoever of the word "propriety."

"I think you would be better off acting normal."

"Oh, is that so? Actually, I was just asking casually. Your answer doesn't bother me at all. I think my current look is perfectly fine. I suppose everyone's aesthetic is different. An Omega like you probably only likes the stiff, boring style."

Gu Sijiu was rather displeased by Song Jinzhi's reply. What did she mean, better off acting normal? Was she implying that she wasn't normal right now? She glared at Song Jinzhi indignantly, her tone and expression betraying that she was anything but unbothered. Song Jinzhi began to suspect that the car accident had damaged Gu Sijiu's brain. Why else would she be doing such incomprehensible things?

Song Jinzhi watched as Gu Sijiu opened up the purchases she had made that evening. After a moment, she began meticulously trimming and filing her nails with excessive vanity, then slowly painted them red. Her actions only confirmed to Song Jinzhi that this person was exceedingly strange today. Instinct told Song Jinzhi she needed to get away, and quickly, so she rose and headed back to her room. Gu Sijiu didn't notice Song Jinzhi's departure. She finished putting away her purchases, removed her makeup, took a comfortable bath, and changed into the new nightgown she had bought that day.

The fabric was of excellent quality, a summer weight chiffon that felt wonderfully cool against the skin, infinitely more comfortable than the original host's rigid pajama sets. Before bed, Gu Sijiu heated a glass of milk. As she walked back upstairs, she happened to encounter Song Jinzhi emerging from her room. The other woman was clearly also planning to go to sleep, dressed in a nightgown with a light jacket draped over it. Gu Sijiu saw her, and her gaze landed on Song Jinzhi's chest. She frowned on reflex.

"Wooden Face, want some milk?" Gu Sijiu asked casually. Without waiting for an answer, her eyes swept over Song Jinzhi's bust and quickly darted away.

"Never mind, you clearly don't need it. What's the point of having those things so big, anyway? For a woman, an overly large chest makes clothes look bulky and lacks class." The words spilled from Gu Sijiu's mouth, practically dripping with sour lemon envy. Seeing her give a dismissive hmph and push open her door to retreat into her room, Song Jinzhi looked down at her own chest. Her brow furrowed, then slowly relaxed.

Once back in her room, Gu Sijiu set the milk down on the table in frustration. She lifted her nightgown and glanced down at her own modest mounds, unable to resist giving them a little squeeze. Well... they may be small, but the texture is lovely. Soft yet bouncy, and nicely pert. The color at the tips is still a fresh, tender pink, too. As Gu Sijiu thought this, an image of Song Jinzhi's chest flashed through her mind. Her hands dropped limply, letting the nightgown fall back over her small hills. She drank her milk in silence.
