Chapter 226: Life-or-Death Maze (4)
Ji Ning didn't recover her senses until the afterglow of her orgasm faded, and she climbed off of Xing Ye.
He bore the weight of both of them as he lay on the ground, grinding against her bottom, his back and hair getting muddy.
Ji Ning got up to wipe his back, but Xing Ye caught her wrist. "Look, I'm covered in your juices. What a waste."
Ji Ning joked, pressing her fingertips gently against his abs and rubbing in circles. "Not wasted. It's body lotion for Brother Xing Ye."
Such a tiny movement of her fingertips on his body, yet it somehow provoked such a strong reaction.
Xing Ye's lower abdomen tightened, and he grew painfully hard.
So he simply wrapped his arm around Ji Ning's waist and pulled her back onto him. "Want me to put some of my body lotion inside your hole too?"
But just then, the notification of the contract's success arrived. On the armor lying on the ground, the gem at the center of the heartguard lit up with a purple glow.
A new line appeared above Xing Ye's field of view.
【Your Princess's status is as follows】
【Health: 100】
【Arousal: 100】
【Hunger: 70】
【Cleanliness: 70】
【If any value falls below 50, the Princess will be unable to move】
Ji Ning also noticed that her stats were off. One climax had refilled Health and Arousal to full, but Hunger and Cleanliness had dropped by a full 12 points.
By her calculations, that was three times the normal decay rate!
The system really was inhuman. Doing nothing wasn't an option, but replenishing one stat made the others drop even faster.
The problem now was, how could she replenish Hunger and Cleanliness? Concrete walls were everywhere. Was she supposed to dig up earthworms and eat them?
Hearing Ji Ning's question, Xing Ye hastily brushed the mud off his back, put on his clothes and armor, and said, "On the way here, I passed a tree wall we can go through. We should be able to find food and water for you in the forest."
"Then let's go check it out!" Ji Ning was getting anxious. She only had 20 points left, which would last only an hour and forty minutes. If she didn't replenish them soon, she'd turn into a decoration.
Replenishing the Princess's stats was urgent, so the two quickly straightened their clothes. Because they couldn't go out of character, they had to wear every single piece.
If she could, Ji Ning would have gone barefoot. Her shoe soles were too narrow and easily sank into the dirt, and the heels were especially thin and dainty, making walking awkward.
After they'd walked a while, Xing Ye noticed this and knelt down in front of her. "Come on, good girl, I'll carry you."
Ji Ning was worried about tiring him out and almost refused, but then she reconsidered. First, efficiency would help them clear the game faster. Second, since Xing Ye was already her knight, it was only natural for a princess to enjoy her knight's care.
So she let go of her hesitation, sprang up lightly, and clung firmly to Xing Ye's back, her legs wrapped around his waist, content to be a big shot's little accessory.
Even though Ji Ning's skirt was voluminous, Xing Ye could still support her with one hand. Then he strapped his sword to his waist and held the shield on his arm.
His strides were long, and his silver armor rustled with every step, giving him a majestic and imposing air.
Ji Ning felt as if she'd gotten a mount, and their movement speed greatly increased.
From their starting point to the tree wall Xing Ye had mentioned, Ji Ning's stats only dropped by 1 point.
What was called a tree wall was actually a stretch of forest that had replaced the concrete wall that should have been there.
At the very edge stood a neat, dense row of trees in a curved line, which was why Xing Ye called it a tree wall.
The unknown forest could hold danger, so Xing Ye couldn't carry her any longer. Ji Ning climbed down, and they passed through the tree wall one after the other, entering the forest.
The forest was vast; you couldn't tell from the outside that it contained a whole other world.
In truth, the paths inside were rugged and overgrown with thickets, and the canopy blocked out the sun. It felt like the outer trees were just an entrance to another realm.
Not long after they entered, Xing Ye had already killed two pythons and a wild wolf. After trudging on for another ten-plus minutes, they finally spotted a wild pear tree in the distance.
When they reached the tree, Xing Ye used the hilt of his sword to pull down a branch and picked pears for Ji Ning.
"There's a huge beehive over there..."
Before Ji Ning could finish, a dark shadow burst from the thicket behind the pear tree, barreling straight toward her.
Xing Ye didn't even have time to catch the pears, dropping them all on the ground as he raised his shield and drew his sword to grapple with the bear.
Ji Ning retreated, but accidentally stepped on her skirt and fell to the ground.
As if that weren't enough, another bear, bigger and with darker fur, burst out of the woods that had been quiet when they passed through.
If the first, smaller bear was its cub, this brown bear was exceptionally frenzied as it charged, raising a thick paw as if to swipe down at Ji Ning.
The paw was massive, the claws razor-sharp. Unable to stand immediately, Ji Ning nimbly rolled on the ground to evade.
She felt that if that paw had landed, not only would her Health hit rock bottom, she'd lose half her life.
In the nick of time, a gleaming sword sliced through the air above Ji Ning's head and struck the brown bear's foreleg, cutting halfway through it. The bear's paw and skin dangled from the limb, blood gushing.
Ji Ning was pulled up and shielded behind the newcomer. Meanwhile, Xing Ye had already finished off the cub and turned to fight the wounded brown bear.
