Chapter 61: Lun Sang High School (13)
Another double period of the students' "favorite"—math class.
Jiang Ting wore a smoke-gray silk shirt today. His broad shoulders and narrow waist were on full display. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, lending him an extra touch of laziness as he wrote on the clipboard, so handsome it seemed unreal.
Right now was a lull for memorizing formulas, and the classroom was silent. Jiang Ting leaned against the lectern, flipping through a book, his side profile facing the class.
"Teacher, why is your book so crumpled? Do you want to use mine? I can share with my deskmate." A girl in the front rows asked.
Jiang Ting tilted his head. Under the inquisitive gazes of dozens of pairs of eyes, he smiled almost imperceptibly, then said softly, "It's nothing. My little cat scratched it." As his words fell, the tail end of his gaze swept across Ji Ning's face.
Ji Ning paused, recalling yesterday when she was bent over the desk and fucked by Jiang Ting. It seemed she had grabbed something in a panic.
So the thing she had grabbed was Jiang Ting's textbook… Ji Ning's cheeks suddenly burned hot.
It was rare to hear Jiang Ting speak about anything outside of class material. The classroom instantly bubbled with excitement, and everyone chased after him asking all sorts of questions about the cat he mentioned.
But he just smiled and said nothing more, then assigned a mountain of homework, causing a chorus of wails to fill the room.
After class, Jiang Ting walked to the back row of the classroom to fetch a cup of water. As he passed the row by the window, he looked back at Ji Ning.
This glance did not convey affection; it was instead laced with a hint of deeper meaning.
Ji Ning wasn't sure if her interpretation was correct, but she then took her practice workbook and walked up to the lectern to ask Jiang Ting a question.
To fit her persona, she behaved just like those other girls with ulterior motives. Standing at the side of the lectern, she leaned forward slightly, bent at the waist, her hands supporting her on the desk. This allowed her collar to open just the right amount while she arched her back down, revealing the startling curve from her waist to her hips.
Jiang Ting knew this was not like Ji Ning, but his gaze was still drawn to her.
The collar, unbuttoned by one, revealed half of her tender white bosom, a faint little cleavage faintly visible.
The S-shaped curve of her waist and hips was impossible to look away from. His thoughts veered off track, recalling the trembling image of that curve when he pounded against it.
No one knew that behind Jiang Ting's outwardly serious face as he explained the problem, the sight before him was so tantalizingly fragrant and provocative.
Using the standing practice workbook as cover, Jiang Ting seized a moment to slip a note into Ji Ning's book.
This was the purpose of his hint for her to come to him.
Though… looking at this different Ji Ning, the one flaunting her charms for him, the thought crossed his mind: an unexpected bonus after all.
Ji Ning saw Jiang Ting's little maneuver and knew she'd guessed right. The contents of the note he gave her were definitely very important.
Having obtained the clue, Ji Ning couldn't wait to return to her seat.
Leaving Jiang Ting sitting behind the lectern, seeing only the resolute back of her ditching him the moment she'd used him…
It's fine, a kitty is just this unreasonable. Jiang Ting consoled himself thus.
Ji Ning had already forgotten Jiang Ting. In her seat, hiding from others, she opened the note to read it.
The handwriting on the note looked just like Jiang Ting's. The characters were elegantly upright, the strokes sharp and neat. Quite pleasing to the eye.
The content was about Head Teacher Du. It stated that every head teacher had a quota for special hardship subsidies, but over the years, Teacher Du's quota had always gone exclusively to female students from impoverished families in the class.
Knowing this, Ji Ning was now certain that Teacher Du was a repeat offender who used welfare benefits to molest female students. His persecution of Zhao Jiamin, then, was not a spur-of-the-moment act, but a premeditated, long-term pattern.
Ji Ning let out a long sigh, then tore up and destroyed the clue note Jiang Ting had given her, preventing any NPC from finding it.
Afterwards, she sent the known clues to Song Weiyang via her phone.
There was a class group chat among the students, making it very convenient to add each other.
Ji Ning stared at her chat window with Song Weiyang, thinking it would be so convenient if she could add Xing Ye and Jiang Ting's contact info—then sending messages wouldn't require the hassle of writing notes.
Next time they were alone together, she absolutely must remember to exchange account IDs first. Otherwise, having an electronic device in the instance but not taking this shortcut was just too silly.
The day passed quickly.
After evening self-study, the boys and girls split into two groups beneath the dormitory building to return to their respective dorm rooms.
Ji Ning had changed into pajamas and was removing her makeup when she heard a noisy clamor coming from the neighboring dorm room to the right. Immediately on alert, she stood up and followed her roommates outside their door to watch the commotion at the neighboring dorm.
Ji Ning's dorm was the furthest left on this floor. Their neighbor to the right, the middle dorm, housed Zhao Jiamin, Yao Lu, Zhang Xiaoli, plus one real player.
Right now, Yao Lu and Zhang Xiaoli were aggressively surrounding Zhao Jiamin.
"That was something I brought to wear for the school anniversary performance. Vanya custom jewelry. It was still there when I left this morning, and now it's gone. Who else could have stolen it if not you?"
Yao Lu's aggressive interrogation quickly clued Ji Ning and the other onlookers into the reason for the ruckus.
Zhao Jiamin shook her head, her face full of panic. "I don't know. It really wasn't me! I didn't even know you brought jewelry to school."
"Liar!" Yao Lu pinched Zhao Jiamin hard. "Your family's the poorest. It had to be you who stole it. One of my earrings is probably worth several years of your family's meals, right?"
"I really didn't. I left earlier than you this morning. How could I have had time to steal anything?" Zhao Jiamin clutched her sore arm, seeing the growing crowd outside the door. She was nearly frantic with tears.
"Maybe you came back at noon and stole it." Zhang Xiaoli exchanged a look with Yao Lu before speaking up. "Besides, whether you stole it or not, let us search and we'll see for ourselves." As she said this, she reached out to pull open Zhao Jiamin's locker.
Zhao Jiamin, who had been frozen listening to her words, suddenly panicked. Finding unexpected strength, she stood up and blocked her locker. "I really didn't steal it. You can check the security footage if you don't believe me! But you can't violate my privacy!"
The onlookers, seeing Zhao Jiamin's unusually tense demeanor, immediately became suspicious.
If she hadn't stolen it, why was she so nervous about them checking her locker?
